One of the few guides entrusted with a special permit to fish in Everglades National Park, Captain Kerry has experience of over 20 years as a tournament guide. Kerry’s professional experience with backcountry flats fishing have resulted in winning tournaments. Captain Kerry has earned the “Top Guide” award twice in Take Stock In Children Backcountry Challenge, and anglers have taken numerous awards in the Snook, Trout, and Redfish divisions. Captain Kerry has guided teams to the Grand Champion Award in the 2015 Racers’ Invitation Tournament, as well as two 3rd place finishes over the years.

30th ANNUAL SWAMP GUIDES BALL FISHING TOURNAMENT & AUCTION
All Release – Redfish, Snook, Bonefish
Swamp Guides Ball Tournament started. It was felt the guides should be more proactive at helping themselves during times of need by raising money for the Hawley. The first tournament committee was Mike Collins, Mike Ehlers, Hank Brown, Gary Ellis, Joe LePree and Bill Knowles. Members were asked to fish the event and donate the proceeds or donate a day for the auction. All monies to go to the Hawley Foundation Guides Account.
RACERS’ INVITITATIONAL FISHING TOURNAMENT

The Annual Racers’ Invitational Fishing Tournament will take place in March at the Holiday Isle Resort and Marina located in the Florida Keys at Islamorada, Florida. Racing sponsors, drivers and crews will come together to compete in a Backcountry Fishing Challenge just prior to the final event to the Ford NASCAR Championship Week.

Key Largo Rotary presents the 20th annual catch and release fishing tournament in the Beautiful Florida Keys to raise funds for Take Stock in Children and other local scholarships. This tournament allows for fishing Friday through Sunday – lines in after Friday’s kickoff party and captains & anglers meeting. For the past few years, this event has raised enough money each year that, when combined with the matching Florida state funds, provides a named scholarship for a local student.
